Definition: to delay doing something until a late date; to delay an event or arrangement until a later date
Examples:
- I wish I could put it off, but I really need to get my work finished.
- I’m sure it will be fine if you put off the cleaning until later on.
- I have decided to put off buying a new car until I have some extra money.
